AI CONTENT CREATION
Initially I was quite skeptical about the AI hype that was flooding the internet a few years ago. Out of curiosity I started playing around with a few apps and quickly saw the endless potential to try and create exciting and original images. The problem soon became clear that it was too easy to churn out AI slop and one push/prompt button rubbish, so I had to rethink and started to experiment with ways to control AI output and to be able to use it in an illustrative way that had visual merit and fulfilled commercial demands.
AI is continually evolving and as a concept tool it is unrivalled. It is also a lot of fun and saves so much time trying out ideas. Creating an image using 3D software for example might take 50-60 hours to produce. Modelling, texturing, lighting, assembling, then rendering. Many times to be unhappy with the result! So, try again, the same process until finally happy with the result! Final compositing, colour correction. Sit back and hope it is what was originally intended. With AI this whole process is much quicker. It's possible to create many ideas without the waiting time and if that particular direction doesn't work out then I can move on to the next, and the next. I can iterate almost in realtime. The output quality has become more and more high end with the ability to produce truly stunning imagery for all media without logistical boundaries. The power is even more in the hands of all creatives and artists in media, art, advertising, film or publishing to be able to create their own visual language!
